Christopher Dodson, executive director of the North Dakota Catholic Conference, issued the following statement on abortion clinic’s latest lawsuit:

A preliminary review of the latest attack on North Dakota women by the abortion lobby demonstrates its disregard for the truth and the law.

The complaint filed yesterday by the New York based Center for Reproductive Rights on behalf of the Red River Women’s Clinic intentionally misinterprets North Dakota law in an attempt to build a case for denying women information about possibly reversing the effects of abortion drugs and the science about human embryology.

The abortion lawyers also conveniently ignore that the full court of the Eighth Circuit, which includes North Dakota, already upheld a law identical to one of those challenged in this latest complaint. Specifically, the court upheld a South Dakota requirement that women be told that the abortion will terminate the life of a whole, separate, unique, living human being.

Apparently, the abortion lobby’s real motive is unfettered ability to conduct abortions, not a woman’s right to be informed.

We look forward to Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem vigorously defending North Dakota’s Woman’s Right to Know law.
